Drills

The drill exercises are a sequence of movements and techniques used as a means of teaching and perfecting a particular skill.

Drills rely on what is commonly refered to as "muscle memory". Meaning, if a particular movement is repeated often enough, the body will become better aquainted with the movement and able to perform it with less effort and involvement from the brain. This movement will become somewhat of a reflex.

During drill practice, various techniques (kicks, puches, elbow strikes or anything else) will be mixed, teaching the students brain how to sequence the movements together in a nice and smooth flow.

This section of the library will give example drills used to teach Toshindo Karate.
